I can remember going to the cinema and being blown away by the opening sequence of Private Ryan. Apparently it took months to film and cost millions and millions. Well here’s how you do it in a couple of days with 3 guys a video camera and a few thousand pounds. Brilliant work by a BBC crew.

Scary landing

Getting in a big hunk of metal and flying 30,000 feet above the earth never used to bother me. But last week I went to the Science Museum with my niece and nephew and seeing how crudely a plane is built didn’t exacly fill me with confidence. And then I saw this landing on a Hamburg runway last week. Next time I’m going by train.
